Privacy Policy
Last updated 12 October 2026
This policy explains how PixelPerfection (trading as MiTow), Flat No 10, Talari Nilayam, Main Road, Aminpur, Sangareddy, Telangana 502032, India ("MiTow", "we") handles personal data when you use the MiTow app to book a tow, the MiTow Driver app as a towing partner, or this website.
We process personal data under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.
What we collect from customers (MiTow app)
- Your mobile number, used to sign in with a one-time code.
- Your name and, if you add them, your email address and profile photo.
- Vehicles you save, including the registration number and an optional photo of the registration certificate (RC).
- Addresses you save, and the pickup and drop locations of each booking.
- Your device location, only while you use the app, to set your pickup point and show tow trucks near you.
- Emergency contacts you choose. When you pick one from your phone’s contacts, only that one contact’s name and number are read; your address book is not uploaded.
- Bookings, fares, payments, receipts, ratings, chat messages with your driver, and support tickets with any photos you attach.
What we collect from towing partners (MiTow Driver app)
- Your mobile number, name and profile details.
- Verification (KYC) documents you upload, such as your driving licence, vehicle registration, insurance and identity documents, and the services your vehicle can provide.
- Bank account details for payouts.
- Your precise location while you are online or on a job, including when the app is closed or not in use, so nearby jobs can be offered to you and customers can follow their tow. Location collection stops when you go offline.
- Photos of the customer’s vehicle you take at pickup, as a record of its condition.
- Jobs, earnings, payouts, cash collected and settled, ratings and support tickets.
Collected from every user
- A push notification token, so we can send booking, job and account updates.
- Basic technical information needed to run the service, such as app version, device type and request logs on our servers.
- We do not use advertising identifiers, we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not sell personal data.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To match a booking with the nearest available towing partner, show live tracking during a trip, and let the customer and partner call or message each other.
- To verify towing partners before they can accept jobs.
- To take payments, issue receipts and invoices, pay partners and handle refunds and disputes.
- To send service notifications, and promotional messages only where you have agreed to them.
- For safety: emergency (SOS) alerts, fraud prevention and resolving complaints.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Who we share it with
- Between customer and partner during a booking: names, phone numbers, the pickup and drop locations, and the partner’s live location and vehicle details. Calls currently use your personal phone number, so the other person sees it.
- Fleet operators, for partners who drive one of their trucks: the jobs and locations of that truck.
- Service providers that process data for us under contract: Razorpay (payments and payouts — card and UPI details are entered with Razorpay and never stored by MiTow), our SMS provider (sign-in codes), Google (maps and address search), Firebase and Expo (push notifications) and Amazon Web Services (hosting in India).
- Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect someone’s safety.
How long we keep it
- Trip location trails and SOS location trails: 180 days.
- Driver–customer chat messages and notification history: 90 days.
- Sign-in codes and expired sessions: 30 days after they expire.
- Accounts that never completed a sign-in and have no activity: 30 days.
- Invoices, payments and other financial records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after an account is deleted.
- Everything else: for as long as your account is open, then removed or anonymised when the account is deleted.
Your rights and choices
You can see and correct your profile in the app. In Privacy & Legal (MiTow: Profile → Settings → Your Data & Account; MiTow Driver: Profile → Legal & privacy, or from the verification screen while you wait for approval) you can download a copy of your data, withdraw consent to promotional messages, and delete your account.
You can turn off location, contacts, photos, camera and notifications in your phone’s settings at any time. Some features will not work without them — for example, partners cannot receive jobs without location.
See mitow.in/delete-account for exactly what deleting an account removes.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), access inside MiTow is limited to the staff who need it and is logged, and payment card data never touches our servers.
Children
MiTow is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top and, for material changes, ask you to agree again in the app.
